Ellen DeGeneres was born in January 26, 1958 and is an American actress, a stand-up comedienne, and a television host. She’s hosting the talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and for just one season, she was also a judge on American Idol last Season 9 (with Lee DeWyze winning and Crystal Bowersox as runner up).
DeGeneres was confirmed to be an American Idol judge last 9th of September 2009. I think she replaced Paula Abdul. Well, maybe because Paula Abdul was fired or quit the show. She could also replaced Kara DioGuardi if Kara quits or leaves the show. Again, who knows the real reason behind all of that. But anyways, she appeared on screen and started judging contestants when Hollywood Week (Season 9) starts. It was said in the reports that Ellen signed a contract to be a judge on the show for (at least) five seasons, but it all ends up to be only one season then she quits.
Her debut on the show: 9th February 2010. On her departure, Ellen said that the series didn’t feel like the right fit for me”. Her most memorable line (at least to me) is when one contestant started beat boxing on stage and she said: “I think there’s something’s wrong with his microphone”.
