American Idol Season 5 rocker, Chris Daughtry, is gearing up with his band and whoa, there’s a new song called “Renegade”. It was of course written by Chris Daughtry and his band member, Josh Paul. The production is hard hitting, very solid, and well… way too clean! This digital sound sometimes makes me sleep! I don’t know, I may be the one looking for some analog dirt in the sound specially in this new song that’s kindda fast! Chris voice is just as powerful as ever that I think will sound twice the punch if recorded the 80s way! Business as usual, no idea if this would be a mega seller since the industry is dying and kids nowadays don’t listen to such genre anymore.
I am guessing that Chris will be shifting to a heavier sound in this new album since most of his recent tweets indicates like that. Sounds like a real great move (if done right) rather than turning mellow. No idea (once again) if this will be the new single. Honestly, the megaphone singing is annoying and that basic riff is too generic to get hooked to the song!
I hope that the sound/style from the first album will still be pushing thru. That one is so good even Chris couldn’t top it in his sophomore album. Goodluck with the new album ‘though. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the tracks…
