Last night was another American Idol performance show wherein the remaining top 3 idol contestants showcased their talent one last time before the finale. After 35 episodes and 8 months it finally came to this day when the final three will battle it out to remain in the competition. During these 8 months many a times they have gone to the brink of elimination and been pulled back on the basis of sheer talent and love from their legions of fans in America. For the one last show before the finale the three contestants, Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez brought their A game to the table and sang three songs. Out of the three one was a judge’s choice, the other by mentor Jimmy Lovine and the third was the contestant’s own choice. First up from the contestants was Joshua Ledet who started with, “I’d Rather Go Blind,” followed by , “ Imagine” and then he finished it off with , “No More Drama.” Steven said that is was another Joshua moment. After the second song Jennifer remarked that it was a pullback moment. Joshua has been one of the top contenders for the title and seldom has he been faced with elimination. His high pitch singing has been complimented many a times by the judges who think he can win the competition on the basis of sheer talent alone.
Jessica Sanchez was called next onto the stage. She started with “My All” and followed it up with, “I Don’t Want to Miss A Thing” before signing off with, “I’ll Be There.” After the first song the judges commented that it was a hard song but she sang beautifully. Jessica has been a darling of the nation and at just 16 years, she is one of the youngest contestants ever in American Idol history yet her singing has often been thought to be worthy of the Grammys.
Phillip Phillips started with “Beggin.” He followed it up with “Disease” before concluding with “We’ve Got Talent.” The judges remarked that they were in a Phillip Phillips concert and he has the talent to become the next Springsteen if he writes his own songs. Phillip Phillips has been battling a personal battle. Right through the competition he has faced a kidney problem which seems to have only grown as the competition has progressed. It was felt that his kidney problem would affect his stay in the competition but Phillip Phillips has braved the pain and today finds himself in the top three of the competition. The entire nation has stood behind Phillip Phillips and egged him on throughout the competition.
With the final 3 performances over, the contestants wait with bated breaths as America decides who will remain in contention and who will be eliminated. While all three have put their hearts and souls into their performances, the nation would decide who progresses to the final stage and who is eliminated.
