American Idol Season 10 Episode 38 : 25th May 2011 (TOP 2 Performs)

American Idol Season 10 Episode 38 : Finally, it all comes down to this – TOP 2 Showdown! While I am not really a fan of both finalists (ie: Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina), I congratulate them for making this far. After thousands (if not millions) of people auditioning for this 10th season, ending as a Top 2 finalist of American Idol is nothing but a life-changing experience! After the show, the real competition starts. This time, the big wigs of the industry will get into the picture and when your album is not selling well, prepare yourself to be dumped! A lot of people said that Scotty McCreery is the one winning this season. Of course, Lauren Alaina fans will disagree but who’s in it to win it tomorrow night?!? I don’t like saying this but in my opinion only… this is one hell of a boring finale! 16 year old kids, both singing Country Music! I think I like to watch James Durbin VS Pia Toscano or Durbin VS Abrams, something like that. Anyways, here’s a recap of tonight’s episode…

First off, Lauren Alaina is said to be sick. She’s having problems with her voice, the doctors came in backstage and more blablas that actually is pretty normal happening on a singing competition like this. Next, we all know that both of them belongs in one genre: Country. That’s it, here we go…

First ROUND: Contestant’s Choice

Scotty McCreery is singing Montgomery Gentry’s “Gone”. I think that his previous performance is way better than tonight. This doesn’t show much of his vocals. It’s good, but not the best from Scotty McCreery, specially for this important night! Lauren Alaina is performing Carrie Underwood’s “Flat on the Floor”. Once again, this performance is too flat for tonight! I think they only want to please all the Country Music fans. Yeah, Lauren Alaina is sick (having problems with her voice) and gets a standing O. It’s almost a tie, but McCreery wins one bit.

Second ROUND: Heroes Choice

Carrie Underwood picked Pam Tillis’ “Maybe It Was Memphis” for Lauren Alaina and I think she just picked a song that is really tailor made for Lauren. Really good rendition of the song right there. It doesn’t really show that Lauren is sick. The poor 16 year old teen is giving all of her strength in this very last night and killing it! Great job! Scotty McCreery is singing George Straight’s “Check Yes or No,” George Strait “Check Yes or No”. First off, I’ve no idea why George picks his own song. Maybe he likes promoting it in this very important night! Not the best once again from McCreery and this time, Lauren Alaina is taking over. It’s nice, but this second round goes to Lauren.

Steven Tyler said that both round goes to Lauren because Lauren is prettier than Scotty. Hmmm, this sounds kindda bad, Steven! Lol…

Third ROUND: Debut Singles

Well, all I can say is that Lauren Alaina should drop her dressing style. It’s nice to look at now since she’s still in the show, but after Idol? Lauren is singing a song called “Like My Mother Does” and the song chorus is pretty good. This performance could even beat Scotty McCreery to bits, and the song ends really nice. The Scotty McCreery is singing a song with a funny title. I don’t know but “I Love You This Big” is simply naughty (or ridiculous if you wish)! The song is pretty average and Scotty is singing it just right. McCreery might end up in big trouble tonight!

CONCLUSION: Who’s winning this episode?

Boy, I am really delighted I did survived listening to this finale and opinions are like arses, so here’s mine: I think Lauren Alaina is winning this season. Nope, I am NOT a fan of both, so I am only giving an “opinion” base on what I am HEARING during their performance. If we base it on tonight’s performance, Lauren Alaina will win tomorrow night. If we base it on popularity, I’m sorry to say this, then Scotty McCreery will obviosuly win! Just look at his Hometown Visit, try to beat that fanbase first…
